The Quincentenary Ball will bring you a host of musical delights with a range of styles to suit all. Keep your eyes peeled for our featured artists to be announced!

Founded in 2011 this Ceilidh Band are a firm favourite at Student Events throughout the year. Their wide-ranging folk repertoire will have you up on your feet and dancing the night away. So polish your shoes, grab a partner and get practising!

Pangolin is a 7-strong band based in Oxford, UK. Formed in early 2016, it aims to explore and exploit the natural overlaps between funk, jazz, soul and hiphop, developing original works that juxtapose virtuosic vocal lines and florid instrumental solos with searing spoken word and finger-tight grooves. The group draws its influences from a wide range of artists, such as J Dilla, Robert Glasper, Hiatus Kaiyote, Snarky Puppy, GoGo Penguin, Vulfpeck, and Radiohead, backed up with the rich tradition of centuries of classical music in which many of the band members first sharpened their creative teeth.

The Donut Kings is one of Oxford University’s most active and exciting big bands, charming audiences across Oxford since 2001. With entertainment value and musical excellence at its heart, the band has consistently delivered engaging performances for over fifteen years.

Year after year, the band has maintained a great playing standard, attracting top jazz musicians from across the University. Playing at balls and private functions, recording albums, and tours on foreign shores have made ‘The Donut Kings’ a household name of the Oxford jazz scene.

The Oxford Belles are Oxford University’s original all-female a cappella group! Established in 1995 to combat Oxford’s male dominated music scene, the Belles are known for their sassy attitude and kickass arrangements of girl power anthems.  Over the past year, they’ve performed around the UK for balls, parties, and events. Some of their highlights include singing for BBC Sports Relief in the Olympic Park, featuring on BBC South News for world music day, and recording a new EP which will be released soon!

Formed from the ashes of The Dr Teeth Big Band, the wildly swinging, stonkingly soulful and massively funky Steve Steinhaus Swing Band bring you a night of the finest, vintage dance and party tunes. Featuring Chicago’s own Steve Steinhaus on vocals, Jay “The Bagpuize” Riley on sax, Elliott “Don’t Call Me Wayne” Rooney on keys and vocals, Tom Yeoman on drums and Benny “The Bullfrog” Benson on bass.
